RFG General Contractors, Inc. is owned by R. F. (Skip) Gladwin III. Skip has been a resident of Jupiter, Florida since 1947.

RFG General Contractors, Inc. dates its roots to 1952, when Skip Gladwin's Dad, R. F. "Bud" Gladwin, Jr., started Gladwin Construction in Jupiter, FL. Bud had previously been a foreman for Sands Construction Co. in Hobe Sound. In 1956, Bud Gladwin teamed up with Jim Bassett, a Jupiter pioneer, to form Gladwin-Bassett, Inc. From the 1950's to the 1980's, they together did a major portion of the commercial work in Jupiter, including the First Marine Banks, the Community Federal Savings, the Village Square Shopping Center, the Jupiter Town Hall, the (then) Congregation Church, and the First United Methodist Church. Bud and Jim were two of the finest men you could ever know and had an outstanding reputation for honesty and integrity.

Skip Gladwin, his two brothers Dan (owner of Gladwin & Associates) and Steve, and his two sisters Geri and Gail, all grew up working at Gladwin-Bassett, Inc. Skip was general manager of Gladwin-Bassett, Inc. for 14 year until 1984, when, with the help of his Dad, he formed RFG General Contractors, Inc. From the beginning the primary purpose of RFG General Contractors has been to offer the best in residential construction to the Jupiter Island community and to provide extraordinary service to its clients.

Skip Gladwin has a BS in mechanical engineering and a MBA in finance, both from the University of Florida. He is a Past President of the Associated General Contractors of America, Southeast Florida Chapter. He has also served on the Boards of the Jupiter Tequesta Chamber of Commerce, Hobe Sound Community Chest, Loxahatchee River Historical Society, the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter Tequesta, and the Southeast Florida Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. Skip was recognized as Outstanding Builder of the Year by the American Institute of Architects in 1990.
